Food for Pregnancy


Woman aspires to experience Pregnancy at least once in their lifetime. .During pregnancy, a woman's mental position will go under a dramatic change. She becomes emotional and more sensitive.It has been said that a pregnant woman should eat for two people. It may not true but if you will take healthy and balanced diet your child will become healthy.
During pregnancy a woman has to provide good nutrition for two individuals. The growing baby gets all its nourishment from its mother through the birth cord, so diet is very important. If the mother is lacking in any vitamins and nutrients her baby might be weak.
She should make a nutritional plan with the help of her doctor or elder who are experienced. She simply needs her husband to understand her foods, moods, feelings, emotions and a state of uneasiness. Most men are unaware of these behaviors. Please help your wife in below activities:

a)    Regular medical examination
b)    Eat enough Proteins and Vitamin
c)    Do light Exercise every day
d)    Take care during travelling
e)    Avoid negative thoughts and Action, Read religious books
f)    Avoid X-ray, sources of heat in food as well as general, microwave, smoking, meat (if possible), stress etc.

Foods to prefer during pregnancy
a)    Cereals, whole grains, Rice, Murmure (Khichri, Chapati, Paratha are made from wheat and rice) are also beneficial.
b)    Meat, egg, fish.
c)    Vegetables and fruits, these provide vitamins, minerals, pulses, nuts and fiber.
d)    Drink like purified/filter water and all type of fresh fruit juices.
e)    Dairy products like curd, buttermilk, cottage cheese (paneer). These foods are high in calcium, protein and Vitamin B-12.
f)    Folic acid (like beans, fruit, green vegetables, orange juice, lentils, peas and rice), Iron (like cabbage, banana, orange etc. , take iron supplement every day up to 5 months) and zinc and calcium (Sardine, white and red bean, nut and seeds)
g)    Black grapes, banana, ripe mango, dates, cashew nuts, apricot are very beneficial.
h)    Banana

Foods to avoid during pregnancy
a)    Unpasteurized milk, meat, poultry which are not cooked properly. These can contain harmful bacteria. Raw and uncooked seafood, such as oysters
b)    Large fish like  shark and swordfish (contain unsafe levels of mercury)
c)    Alcoholic drinks, packaged juices as they have a very high sugar content and smoking. tobacco, Caffeine (Like more quantity of  coffee, tea and cans of cola per day)
d)    Cabbage, Caulis flower & all long green vegetables such as Tondali, Spinach should be used alternately
e)    Vitamin A (Paprika, Red Pepper, Cayenne, Chili Powder, Sweet Potatoes, Dried Apricots, Cantaloupe, mangoes, papaya) may cause damage to embryo.  So don’t take more.
f)    Reduce brinjal, suran, papaya, celery, onion, chili, garlic, ginger, pepper, mustard, bajara, carom seeds, from your diet. You must remember that those who have previous history of abortion better they must avoid these.
g)    Items such as sandwich, bakery bread, bun, pizza, pancake, steamed rice cake, curd, tomato, tamarind and all fermented food usually increase the swellings and acidity, please take it in small quantity.
h)    Don’t make fasts or be hungry during pregnancy
i)     Do not eat left over, frozen & deep-frozen food.
