Food for Kidney Stones


Research said, "That women with the highest intake of dietary (Range of food) calcium had the lowest risk of kidney stones."

Functionality of kidney
The functionality of kidneys is filters waste and salts from our body. When too much of certain types of wastes build up, the kidneys may not be able to filter it. These wastes can form crystal like substances that are the beginning of kidney stones. This can happen when urine contains more acid or more alkaline. Kidney stones form when minerals in your urine crystallize, forming a "stone."
Types of Kidney Stone
·         Calcium oxalate stones
When the urine is acidic means it has a low pH. Some of the oxalate in urine is produced by the body. Oxalate is an organic molecule found in many vegetables, fruits, and nuts.

·         Calcium phosphate stones
Calcium phosphate stones tend to form when the urine is alkaline, meaning it has a high pH.

·         Uric acid stones
These are a byproduct of protein metabolism. They're commonly seen with gout, and may result from certain genetic factors and disorders of your blood-producing tissues.

·         Struvite stones
Result from infections in the kidney. Preventing struvite stones depends on staying infection free. Diet has not been shown to affect struvite stone formation. Found more often in women, these are almost always the result of urinary tract infections.

·         Cystine stones
It is due to rare genetic disorder that causes cystine (amino acid), one of the building blocks of protein—to leak through the kidneys and into the urine to form crystals.
Food to avoid for kidney stone
a)    Beets, green peppers
b)    chocolate, sweet potatoes, green beans peanuts, peanut oil
c)    tea, coffee, beer, salt , lots of meat, soft drinks (have phosphoric acid)
d)    all high fat food
e)    Sugar, Fructose and Soda
f)    dairy foods containing calcium including cheese and yogurt
g)    blueberries, strawberries, blackberries
h)    anchovies and organ meats including sweetbreads and liver
Foods to Eat during Kidney stone
i)     Drink Plenty of Water
j)     Do Exercise everyday minimum 1 hour
k)    magnesium(Rice, Wheat, Oat, Squash (drink made from crush of fruit), Banana, Pumpkin, Watermelon Seeds, Almonds ,Cashews ,Soybeans)
l)     Eat Calcium-Rich Foods (fortified orange juice, milk low fat, almonds, bean)orange juice
m)  Vitamin C (Red and Green Hot Chili, Fresh Herbs (Thyme and Parsley), Dark Leafy Greens (Kale, Mustard Greens, Garden Cress), Oranges, Papaya, Kiwi Fruits)
n)    potassium foods, such as fruits and vegetables
o)    Vitamin B6 from food (Peanuts, sunflower seeds, cashews, soybeans, specific fish (like Cod, salmon, trout and tuna) etc.)

  1. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
